Making Bronze
Hot - Cast Bronze (Lost Wax Process)
At Bronze Statue Designs we work with real Bronze sculptures or hot cast bronze sculptures. This is metal that is melted at extremely high temperatures and then poured into a mold.
Bronze liquid is able to seep into the detail of a mold and that is why this metal has been used for centuries to make statues.
The hot casting or lost wax method of casting is a highly skilled, complex, time and labour-intensive process. Every part of the process requires incredible skill on behalf of the artisan. We combine approximately 88% copper and 12% tin with a small number of other metals to produce our real bronze statues.
This is why the price of a real bronze sculpture is more expensive compared to Cold-cast Bronze, which is made from plastic resin and is easy to break apart, but can look similar in appearance.
Bronze hot casting is the ideal collector's item as a beautiful long-lasting statue for your home or office.
